Any RL owners considering a Nissan GT-R ?
I just "ordered" one yesterday (put money down) and the Nissan dealer loved the RL. Clearly this elevates their brand, and we shall see what comes of the GT-R....

If I get a chance, I would like to buy the '08/'09 Acura NSX. For me, I've been a Acura/Honda guys for 13years. Love their cars, own a '93 Honda, '04 TL, '05 RL.
Good Luck on the GT-R. That is an awesome car. My friend is a big Nissan fan and is drooling over that car. Did they give you "ballpark" price.

"Ballpark" price is "between 50k and 80k."
No one really has a firm idea but it should be less than initially expected since it will be branded a Nissan...

Wow, I didnt know they were accepting deposits already. Time for me to visit Nissan. Nice! How much are the deposits for the GTR? 50k isnt bad at all for starting. The reputation is already there with the name.

Dealers (general managers) can choose to take deposits or not.
Regal Nissan (Roswell, GA) took mine and a friend's deposits ($1000).
Troncalli (Decatur, GA) is a bunch of incompetent morons that should be placed in a cage. So they didn't take a deposit - EVEN AFTER AGREEING TO on the phone.
Please don't take my word on price as gospel - I could be completely and totally off-base. $60-70k is more realistic.

A deposit guarantees one of the first three cars at each dealer. Initial US production run is 10,000 cars.
Color choice is the X factor - but I'll take a general color choice based on the car. A friend of mine is #1 on the list (and wants a different color combo than me), so we have two shots at getting our individual choices.

josh, when are you expecting delivery of the gtr? so it's true that nissan will be distributing the car and not infiniti like previously expected. twin-turbo v6 at 480 hp! that should be insane. i would be torn between the gtr and the new nsx but i would expect the nsx to be significantly more expensive. speculation is the lexus-lfa supercar will be upwards of 110000. my parents' neighbor is part-owner of one of the local nissan dealerships in hawaii, i'll try get the scoop on the gtr. as a previous owner of a 2003 350z and a current owner of a 2005 rl i would have to say overall i am much more satisfied with the acura and the dealership service has been flawless. still...

Well I did call around and most dealerships didnt know what a GTR was. Only 2 in Houston did. One was accepting $5K deposit while the other was a non refundable $1K. They both said I would be the first in line.
One thing I am very unsure of is the interior and quality. Its definitely a gamble and its very tempting!!
