Active Noise Cancellation System (ANC)
For this ANC feature, Acura states it will neutralize sounds by generating opposing frequencies from the speakers of the audio system. This helps eliminate the need for heavy, sound-absorbing insulation in the body. Instead, lightweight, yet highly effective noise-insulation materials are located in the dash, floor, roof, fenders and hood, inducing quiet reverie, while contributing to a lighter, nimbler ride.
Does 05RLer really feel the better and quiet cabin/environment? Will this interfere your audio system? Thanks.

Not having a RL myself I can only speculate about it. A lot will depend on what frequencies the system is trying to cancel. Add that to where the mics are located and if they are directional or omnidirectional and you can have a better idea. I have flown a lot of aircraft and ANC can work quite well when properly set up. Since normally it is designed for steady state frequencies and is most effective at this rather than transient signals it shouldn't have much effect on the stereo unless you would have very long sustained notes. Then again I don't know the sampling period for the ANC so again that is speculation.
It generally won't help to much with the road expansion joints for frost cycles but it can help a lot with tire whine. ANC will not usually make things inaudible although in theory it could, it will however reduce the noises 10-15db (or possibly more depending on design and situation) but that is significant as a 10db decrease would make the apparent volume quieter by a factor of ten.

It seems as quiet as any Lexus I've driven (except LS430). Whether that's ANC or just extra sound deadening, it works. But don't take my word for it... read any of the articles in the recent auto mags. A couple of recent ones said "eerily quiet" and "quiet as Church".
