Active Dampers for RL
I haven't followed every thread on the '09 RL, so this may have been mentioned before, but I find it very diappointing that Acura have not offered Active Dampers on the "new" model. I would have thought that their availability would have enhanced the '09 both in what it does on the road, and how it is perceived on the showroom floor.
The most disturbing thought, to me, is the reason why this feature is not offered on the RL, but is available on the MDX.
Could it be that the reason for its' un-availability on the RL is because the active dampers are an American designed and built damper [I assume], and the Japanese did not want/think to incorparate them into the RL? If this is so it is a very worrying trend. Surely the RL needs these dampers from a marketing point of view at least? This "them and us" mind set, if real, must be stopped NOW.
Or maybe it was a cost driven desicion rather than obstinacy. I hope so.

My guess is.....it was cost-driven, particularly for this MMC. I don't they plan for the MSRP to rise very much.
I am hopeful for the FMC coming in 2010. The RL would be a natural for the magnetic ride system.

There are have alway been severe ordering restrictions on the Sport MDX, most likely due to the MRF suspension. They may not be able to support 2 vehicles with this technology right now due to a commodities issue.
I'm with Bob hoping they do it after they fix the current debacle.
