AC Compressor Making Some Noise

Couple weeks ago it started out as a squeak coming from the compressor and has turned into a grinding sound. My guess would be the bearings? How easy is it to replace the bearings? AC still works fine just makes a horrible noise and have left it off in fear of the compressor from locking up.

It's the AC compressor 100%?.. IMO, just grab another compressor. Car-parts.com

Really would like to avoid having the flush the whole system and recharge it. I'm certain it's the compressor. It only makes the sound when the compressor is on..

I'm beginning to think it's not the bearings. If you turn the AC on for the first time since it's been running it takes several minutes before you start hearing it, once the ac is turned off it goes away. Had it been the bearings it would be making this sound the whole time the car is running since the bearings are inside the pulley and the pulley is driven from the belt. Ugg.

My 2008 MDX had the same issue and I just kept running it until it completely stopped blowing out cold air. The dealer ended up replacing the compressor and flushing the system and it cost me $1080 after discounts and putting in a remanufacture compressor. The original quote was $2200 for OEM!
