55,000 mile service

I just bought a 2006 RL and have 55,000 miles on it. I had the oil changed but wanted to know what else I should do with this mileage. I do not know for sure what was done in the past.

First Ralph, congratulations on a wise choice. I have a 07 with 135,000 miles. I still enjoy the car as much now as with mile #1. It has been very dependable and a joy to drive. I would not hesitate a second in buying another. The XM, sound system, nav and bluetooth are a must have. The maintenance minder is great too. It will tell you exactly what maintenance is needed. Since you do not know what has been done previously I would change the inside cabin air filter. Threads here on how to do it. Easy takes about three miniutes. I would also change the engine air filter. There are also threads on how to do this. I think they designed this one so we had to take it to the dealer. This one is more difficult and takes me thirty minutes and some skinned knuckles. I would also have the front and rear differential and transmission fluid changed. After this just go by the maintenance minder. At 105,000 the values need to be adjusted, spark plugs changed and timing belt along with the water pump replaced. This is a costly but only needs to be done every 105,000 miles. Enjoy, keep us up to date and post some pictures.

Nice choice. My 06 has 64K and the next service is a B16, A oil change , inspection, tire rotation and rear diff change. The tranny fluid change was done at around 50k based on the maintenance minder and is driving style dependent. My 08 MDX which is used mostly on short trips was done at 30k. Also the brake fluid is recommended at 3 yrs regardless of mileage. You may want to wait a month or so on that to see if your car is included in the master cylinder recall, which I assume would require a brake fluid change also. If you go to MYACURA.COM you can register your vehicle and see under service what codes mean. A dealer may be able to pull the service record based on the VIN
