2nd HFL Question - Sorry

Read the manuel and did not see an answer. Question is can you dial a number on the phone and then send speak to the other party on the HFL? Or call Voice Mail and enter passcode via phone?

If anyone can help, thanks.

If 05RL's HFL is identical to 3G TL's...

By the similar setup in 3G TL HFL system, YES, they are supposed to work well.

You could dial the number via your keypad of the phone, and hit HFL button to "transfer" to the car's speaker.

Meanwhile, while you're operating HFL system, your keypad of the phone is accessible, too. Lots of 3G TLers used to keyin the passcode or numbers instead of to say it.

Are you 05RL owner, too? If so, welcome to the forum and please sign-in here... https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25

This is a mandatory capability of the handsfree profile. If the phone states it is bluetooth v1.1 comaptible and it includes the handsfree profile you can transfer an ongoing call to the handsfree link.

I also have a question: I am looking for a bluetooth adapter for my SAMSUNG SCH-A650 phone that would interface with the RL's handsfree link system??
Appreciate any help.

So far the Bluetooth adapter won't work with HFL (at least on TLs, I assume RL's cannot use it).

I'm not sure I understand the questions, so just ignore me if this response does not make sense. I don't have my manuals with me right now, so this is from my poor memory.

1. To switch between HFL and the cell, push the talk button on the steering wheel and say "transfer." Do the same to transfer back to HFL.

2. To enter numbers/passcodes via the HFL, push the talk button and say "send X" where X is what you would push on the keypad if you were not using HFL. Say "star" for the asterisk, and "pound" for pound.

This info is in either the big manual (under Hands Free Link, I think), or the Quick Start Manual, not sure which.

Like I said, I'm not sure I understood the questions, but I hope this helps.

Even a bluetooth module, like one that Motorola sells for their non-bluetooth phones, would only allow you to use a bluetooth headset.

The A650 is a verizon phone I think. If you use Verizon as your carrier you only have one choice for a bluetooth phone right now; the Motorola V710. Luckily, it includes a "working" handsfree profile as of the last firmware update.
