Okay so I hooked up the headlights to make sure they work....it looks like the left one cant move the HID....are headlights suppose to move left and right? Or does the left one turn left and the right one turn right? I will have to take them both apart again to investigate...

If you are talking about upon startup, only the passenger light moves. That is a diagnostic routine. When you are driving, either light can move depending on which way the wheel turns. While stopped, only the right light will turn.

It looks like the driver side headlight twitched a little bit with the startup routine, is that normal?

I am looking at also replacing the DRL/High Beam, would this be a good kit to go with? http://www.ebay.com/itm/xeno-HID-KIT...28774d&vxp=mtr

Replacing the high beam with HID will eliminate your DRL.

That kit is pretty cheap. Remember, you get what you pay for.

I just realized HID in high beam is a bad idea anyway and I want the DRL.

I think I am going to order this because Sniffles did it and it worked okay and I like the color and rarely use my high beams...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/9005-LED-Hig...t_10140wt_1163

Unless someone knows of how I can get the best of both worlds? Good color on DRL and good output on high beam mode?

I had it and I liked it...but you lose your high beam. It just looks brighter to the eye but you don't get the visibility you are looking for in a high beam.

Ive got led DRL's, they look awesome and I dont miss the high beams and I travel back roads quite often. I got mine for $9.95 though and they didn't require a resistor. I'm waiting for the seller to get back to me if he has more.

While I am not a fan of the orange corners, having no corners just looks incomplete IMO. The RL headlights (and taillights for that matter) have too much detail to be missing such a large piece of their design.

I can appreciate the work though. How long did everything take and how hard was it?

I think it looks incomplete because we know something is missing, to the average person it probably looks good, but who knows. At first I felt the same way but I like it alot better now.

It took me two days to do everything, resurfacing, baking, etc. It was a pain in the ass and I am just hoping I managed to get the damn things sealed properly. Also getting the headlights off and on the car is the biggest pain in the ass ever, poor design by Acura. Have to loosen the quarter panel and even then its very hard.

That review pretty much confirms that I will never be taking apart my headlights.

You dont have to touch the quarter panel to remove the headlights. If you know what bolts to remove and how the headlight is supposed to come out of the assembly (an go back in) its cake. I've done it numerous times. Took me about 12 hours to remove, bake, paint the chrome, reseal, let the sealant and paint set overnight, and reinstall. I need to refinish the lenses now.

I got opinions from two of my friends (one my age and one in his mid 30's) who are car enthusiasts and I asked them what they thought, they said it looked pretty good, but they didn't know what it looked like with the original corners so I am basing my opinion off of that and I think that I think it looks incomplete to us because we know that...it is incomplete lol.

Also I didn't remove the quarter panel but I had to loosen the bolts for the panel. I have no idea how you guys got it out easily without loosening the panel, I think I probably could have but it was pushing up on the quarter panel ALOT when I was pulling the headlight out, even after loosening the panel it was difficult. Even the other guy in this thread which I got the instructions from for taking the corners out said he had to loosen the quarter panel and it was still painful. You guys are talking from experience about taking the headlight out on the RL, right?

Maybe make a video if you take them out again, if I ever have to remove the headlights (didn't seal correctly, or if someone makes clear corners) then I would want to know how to get them out easily.

Yes i am talking about removing the Headlights on a RL. I also did the cooking of the headlights. and then decided to put the ambers back.

But hey you got the job done...

The amber piece in the headlight should have a bulb behind it so that the car has visible indicators to perpendicular traffic. E.G. if you are waiting at a T intersection then oncoming cars can get advance warning of your intentions. I suspect that some countries mandate side markers for indicators and the LED's on the mirrors may qualify but they may not be as useful as front mounted side facing amber indicators.
The USA is very lax on indicator rules as are the USA drivers who don't use signalling for lane changes or direction changes.

Thats why I replaced the bulbs with chrome amber bulbs, its the same effect as having amber corners at night. Also these amber corners aren't the turn signals so honestly they serve no useful purpose except looking ugly while driving.

Amber corners are required by traffic law in the USA. In regards to rules I'm thankful we don't have has many rules as Europe and other countries, the less traffic laws the better, just more bullshit excuses for police officers to ticket otherwise law abiding citizens for petty crimes so they can line their pockets and enlarge their already unreasonable government pensions, instead of using my tax money to go after violent criminals.

Fixed. The corner has a bulb. It is called the parking light.

False. They are called parking lights. There purpose is served when you need to park while it is dark and do not want to blind people with headlights. Changing a tire at night is a good example.

Also false. That is unless all Mercedes Benz sedans roll off the lot with illegal inspections.

Maybe someone could find me a 2012 MB sedan with amber corners before we start getting ahead of ourselves.

The only reason I brought that example up is because I saw a C-class the other day with silver corners. Every pic on the first page of teh Goog agrees with me too.

I stand corrected that a side marker light in North America must emit an amber color. The MB sedans have a side marker below the corner that may have a clear lens but an amber bulb.

But Euro models are left hand drive, the only RHD in EU is the UK.

Unfortunately I doubt any of the members that posted them are still active. This video should give you good direction on how to clear the headlight
