Professor, what picture are you talking about?

C'mon lump, you sound like a sour puss. What car meets your fancy? And don't say Aventador.

4 out of 5 Dentists say the 2012 RL has not enuff snob appeal to compete with a BMW 535i x.
I hope the 2013 RL shows more teeth.

The ILX doesn't look too bad to me. The NSX isn't my thing but it looks interesting enough. The RDX looks like crap IMO.

I can't believe these clowns are sticking with the grille. I have very little hope for the 2013 RL at this point.

Yea the NSX isa hot, the ILX reminds me of an IS250/350 which is cool but unfortunately Lexus is about to come out with a new body style. Good thing for Acura they plan on pricing the ILX around $25K. The RDX looks like a mini MDX which is a good thing. Good moves for Acura but too little too late. They need to blow it out the water with the RL/Legend. One more thing is Acura tends to make cars that look much better in person so I'll wait til i see some things on dealer lots.

The RL pic here http://www.insideline.com/acura/rl/2...auto-show.html

I don't mean to come off sour, but look at a 2005 RL v. the 2013 side-by-side. What looks more luxurious?

My fancy cay... Aventador

In reality, I'm leaning to a SUV. Never owned one, and I can get a helluva deal from my BMW neighbor on a V8 X5. Loaded on the BMW build site it is about $72K... my neighbor can get it for about $62K. Still the most I have ever paid for a car.

You realize, Professor, that is the 2012 RL right?

Also, my question about the fancy was aimed toward lumpulous' dislike for the NSX. I get tired of all the hate for Acura on this forum. It doesn't matter what they do, half the people here will say they dislike it. As an Acura enthusiast, that IS what this site is for, I am going to challenge the haters. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but some people here will say it's crap before they even look at it.

My bad, I thought it was the 2013. But you'll hear no quibble from me on the NSX. If my fat 6.45" frame can fit in that bastard, my monthly car payment will triple.

Show some repsect "newbie" I was here when you were still driving cars with pedals.

My current 2006 RL meets my "fancy", and I would have bought another had they not ruined it with "the beak".

Acura makes great cars...now they have to start making great looking cars again.

No disrespect. It was an honest and sincere question. Since this car doesn't meet your taste, what 2-seater, mid-engine, halo car (or similar) does? Does anything?

A nice Dino 246GTS possibly, I prefer the front engine, long hood 2 seaters myself, like the S2K, and going way back, the Daytona 365GTS.

I would love to like the new NSX styling...but for the reasons mentioned...I can't.

+1 I think the NSX looks great. Although I'm sure the edginess of the front and rear will be softened up a bit for production.

I can only hope the RL looks as good or even better than the ISX.

Fair enough. The 365 is a nice classic looking car; I can't get past the 246's headlights. I too like the S2K. So we have that in common.

My question was really intended towards the cars of today, but since I didn't specify, that's my bad. Is there a car made after 2010 that gets your blood flowing, or have the golden years captured your heart beyond reclaim?

Long hood from 2012 maybe?

Vipers have always made me want to BARF, to put it bluntly, they represent everything that is wrong with American car design in one horribly fitted and finished package.

Modern day I like the 599GTO, but only the front 1/2, the whole single tail light choice rubs me the wrong way. Also, the new Vette doesn't look 1/2 bad.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the Retro style designs like the Camaro and Charger, just not as part of an Acura.

Just remembered others from the old days....Toyota 2000GT, and the 240-260-280Z.

It seems to me there are some really innovative designs these days, but to me, alot of them just go one step too far...the Nissan Juke being a perfect example....had it looking really nice, but then plunked thosed round lights on it and ruined it for me.

California maybe?

I almost posted a Vette instead of that Viper. However, what I am gathering is that it almost isn't Acura's fault that you don't like the NSX. The styles you have provided aren't NSX material and aren't really Honda material either, excluding the S2K. But, like I mentioned before, you are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. I just wanted to pick your brain to find out if Acura could have captured your vote. So, I have just one more sincere question.

Do you like the looks of any of the NSX models?

How could it be anyone else's fault but Acura's? They penned the design, they built it as is.

Yes, I almost bought an NSX when they debuted, but when I went in for a test drive, I couldn't fit.(6'8", 260) Same reason I didn't buy an S2000 when they came out.

As I said at least twice in this thread, the previous version of the NSX that briefly showed up with testing spyshots are the Nurburgring had me drooling like a fool, but then they shelved it, to my great disappoint.

To be honest Acura styling, to me is a bit of hit or miss. I like both 1st and 2nd gen RLs(my mother had a 1st Gen, I have a 2006 currently), hell, I even liked the Vigor...hated the 1st Gen CL, but liked the 2nd. Love all the Integra\RSX Gens. I also like all versions of the TL

Acura's biggest mistake was "the beak"...I like all the current designs except for that gaping gap-toothed "grin" on the front.

You mean this bad boy?

How could it not be Acura's fault? You are too picky and don't like modern sports car design.

I agree Acuras are hit or miss, but what company isn't?

Are you suggesting the CSX will be sold alongside the ILX?

And Vicki Poponi has already been quoted as saying the TSX is getting squezzed.

The deletion of the TSX, though, will not happen immediately upon the launch of the ILX, said Vicki Poponi, American Honda assistant vice president of product planning.

While admitting the TSX "is the car that gets squeezed," Poponi said that, "We can't dump it right away. We'll see how they work together."

Not at all in the USA. I didn't read the press release and the TSX was my first thought of an exception.

Sorry if I wasn't clear...Acura's percentage of hits\misses is close to 50\50. while other marques like BMW\MB\Lexus\Infiniti percentage is much higher, at least in my opinion....to be honest the reason I keep buying Acuras is more a "bang for the buck" thing than anything else...they don't really do anything "best in class", but taken as a whole they always top my list when purchasing a new vehicle, and trust me, I am NOT brand loyal whatsoever...if Kia made something that I liked and was reliable, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Right now my 2006 RL suits my needs perfectly.

I kind of have to agree with lumpulus. Although I like the new NSX concept and all, I just like the prototype that was testing on the Nurburgring a whole lot better, especially the tail lights, those tail lights were sexy. But I have to say, I'm glad they have the MR layout.
And the ILX, I'm sorry, but it looks kind of bland. I mean, the font looks pretty good, not bad, but not EXCITING. It doesn't catch your eye right away. It doesn't make you turn your head to look and it and say "wow, I want to get that car." However, the rear is the worst looking part IMO. It just looks so blah, the tail lights look cheap (probably is, since I don't see any LEDs). The car doesn't evoke any type of emotion from me.
The RDX looks pretty good though, looks higher end than before.

Isn't the ILX much smaller than the A6 and 5-series?

It would be a bad move to get rid of the TSX but this is coming from the same people that brought you the beak & let it live on thru the lineup's next generations!

But hey what do we the consumer know..
