2006 RL AC problems!
My mechanic needs help. I recently purchased a used 2006 Acura RL, and been having AC problems weeks after the purchase. They told me the condenser was bad, so I had it replaced. While traveling on the freeway for 40 minutes my computer came on and went through the system check during a 80 mph speed. My speed immediately decreased as it was checking the front wheel steering system (this is not the proper term, but close). I pulled over and noticed the temperature gauge went up to about 75% hot. After the temperature subsided I turned off the AC and continued my trip. Took it back to the Mechanic and he said he put the car on the computer diagnostic machine and didn't see a problem.
The AC worked fine in the city until I got on the freeway. Same scenario, I was traveling to Las Vegas from Los Angeles at night, and once again the computer check system came on again, so I pulled over. This time smoke was coming from the engine, but it wasn't from the engine being too hot. This smelled electrical. I had to continue my trip to Vegas, so I turned the AC off and didn't experience the problem again. Just imagine a weekend in Vegas with no AC and temperatures in the tipple digits.
Yeah, I was pissed off, but my mechanic has the car now and he can't figure it out.
Please help me help him (mechanic).
Thanks,
twhitela

Yeah, definitely go get a second opinion, maybe from a dealer if you can. If your mechanic screwed something up, you'll have better luck getting him to correct it if a dealer tells him he effed up.
