Hey party people,

TLDR, my first RL was a beautiful 2005 RL pearl white I bought back in 2008 for 20K (car had less than 25K miles).
I had to sell that car to put a down payment on a house (sold it for 19K in 2010)

Lighting strikes twice as me and my wife decide to buy a second car for the family (now 2016) for a budget between 10-15K
After several months of looking, I come across a craigslist ad (usually the only way I buy cars, never from a dealer). I found a very nice 2008 carbon gray pearl RL for only 10K. With timing belt and major maintenance done (dealer receipts).

I buy the car on the spot and drive it for about 3 months bone stock and realized a few things.

• The RL is probably a perfect car for the money. I drove an S4 and the RL has successfully spoiled me
• Wood trim (handle, wheel) does make a difference
• Sock rims are not the prettiest.
• Had to get a back cushion for the driver seat (only car i had to do it...)

Anyway, thanks to this forum and may hours trolling. I present to you my 2nd RL in 5 years and just put on some nice 19's TL rare rims.

 

 

Very nice. And the last of the good looking RLs. I had the wood steering wheel and shift knob in my former RL and yes, it made a visual, but more importantly tactile improvement. The dimpled leather, stitching and thumb grips on the wheel were just perfect. I liked the OEM wheels, but I have to say your choice seem perfect for that RL in color and proportions.
