18,664 units sold
Here are the Acura RL sales in the U.S. for the model year, October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005:
October 1310
November 1941
December 1967
January 1371
February 1412
March 1376
April 1304
May 1404
June 1565
July 1741
August 1721
September 1552
Does anyone have the sales for the RL in Canada? If Canadian and U.S. sales are combined, then 2005 Acura RL sales are probably over 20,000 units.
NOTE: the RL and the TSX are the only Acuras with sales increases of this September over last September.

Considering its only 1 model, I think sales are good. Every other car mfr has at least 3 models in this mid-luxury group.
Mercedes = (E350, E350 4Matic, E500, E500 4Matic),
Lexus = (GS300, GS300AWD, GS430),
Infiniti = (M35, M35x, M45),
BMW = (525i, 525xi, 530, 530xi, 545i),
I got these numbers from jrock65 on Edmunds.
September 2005 Sales:
E = 4,544
5 = 4,137
GS = 2,739
M = 2,351
STS = 2,212
RL = 1,552

RL 1552 (1 model)
GS 2739 (3 models)
I think the RL is doing better than Lexus in this segment...because say 15% are V8's so that's 411...then about 60% (of the left over 2328) are the v6 4wd and that is 1340 to the RL's 1552. So the RL could be doing 15% better than its lexus counter part in the v6 4wd model to model. I'm not sure but i hope so...

I find it amazing I see so few RLs on the road here (SF Bay Area, I commute 880 from SJ to Fremont). I think I've spotted 5 since I started paying attention several monts ago. Then again Stevens Creek Acura still has 20+ cars in inventory

In Northern/Central NJ there have been more and more RL sightings. The car seems to be as common as the new GS. The new M35x/M45 has the most sightings of the Japanese Luxos. I have also seen quite a few A6's, but that's because in the NJ, Audi's are in abundance and I don't know why.

Yes, I believe leases are counted with sales. That's part of the reason Mercedes and BMW's "sales" are so high.

yeah, BMW and Mercedes are the luxury versions of Hertz and Enterprise. Haven't met that many people who purchase 5's or E's outright. Most lease because as somebody at work mentioned, if I can have a 530i for $620/month with $3k down, why not...

They have an off-site lot I'm pretty sure. When I asked the salesguy a week and a half ago he confirmed they have more cars 'in the back'. Of course it could be that their inventory is not up to date. I didn't see any celestial silvers on the lot at that time I think. Meteor (my fav) and lakeshore (no.2) were there for sure. Waiting for funds to come in before starting 'the dance'.

I see that they now list 15 cars in their inventory. Even if it's not 100% up to date they're at least pruning it every now and then. Of course the color indications are pretty useless and in-consistent. Both Los Gatos and Sunnyvale Acura are much smaller than SC so their inventory is very small. Have you checked Oakland, Burlingame and Elk Grove yet? There are a lot of dealers within 2 hours. I'm considering flying to LA to pick one up. Carsdirect lists the price $1500 less than here. I'd be willing to spend $110 on a Southwest ticket and a few bucks for a cab for that. Heck, they would probably pick me up. Nice drive home to break in the car
Did you want silver/black? That's still listed. If you wanted the light interior they might be out of that combo.

well, i emailed sc and they said they cant give me the low price that has been listed on this forum anymore cuz they screw up the pricing or something like that.
yeah they showed they still have the silver on their site but its actaully its the blueish silver. almost got that color but decided last min that its a more like baby blue, just a lil girlish in my opinion. they actaully have the color i want elsewhere but one wanted $1000 more. so I am wondering now will they offer the same low price anymore since the $2500 factory incentive is over on 10/3/05, at least thats what i heard. Well, have you check to see how much they are offering now?

Ditto. People at work were going 'ooh' and 'aaah'. Not that I care that much but if it had been a TL people wouldn't have been as impressed. Nice cars for sure but man there are many of those around here.

BTW, to evaluate figures on a full year basis, it should be noted that the 2005 model Acura RL was introduced in mid-October 2004. The one year sales figures would be exact (assuming that's absolutely necessary) only if carried through to the middle of October this year.
