07 RL vs 02 TL-S Ground Clearance

I've been debating on installing ASPEC suspension on my RL, but the 1 inch drop is making me hesitant. My 02 TL-S felt much lower than my 07 RL, but according to Edmunds.com, the 02 TL-S has a ground clearance of 6.2 inches and the 07 RL is at 5.7 inches... could that be right? Does the RL feel higher because of the seating configuration?

It's all about the seating. The RL has a taller seating position.

Phantom, I have only scraped on one thing since I dropped the car and that was because I wasn't paying attention. You do not need to negotiate bumps at angles or anything, just slow down a bit and you'll be fine.

So with an one-inch drop, the RL will probably have the seat height of a 02 TL-S.

Phantom. Just going slower over bumps like tnobori said should suffice. I just lowered my car with the A-spec, but I'm cautious when driving over bumps, holes, and etc in the first place. I think it matters with your driving habits also.

Two problems:

1. We have dramatic hills all around, so a lot of the time, it's impossible to avoid scraping.

2. I didn't care for the way I had to get out of the TL-S. Maybe I'm getting old, but pulling myself out of the car is not something I look forward to.

It's your choice but it's not even a full 1" drop.
