Hello,
I have a 2006 Acura RL that is having some very undesirable transmission issues. Prior to today it would occasionally make a grinding noise when going into reverse. Today just noise, and no reverse, I somehow managed to get it backed out of my parking spot at work and get it home. But tried reverse once home and could not get it to go into reverse. No lights on the dash, no blinking "D" or the notification that the AWD is not working. Just a lot of bad noises, and no movement. All Forward gears are smooth and strong.
I have had the car 3 years, and have done the 3x fluid exchange once a year since owning it.
Mounts are all less than 1 year old, and are OEM as the eBay ones made the car vibrate to hell.
I have removed and cleaned the two solenoids on the top and side of the transmission, that did not help.
I have a full set of Solenoids, and pressure switches on order, and should be able to swap those out in the next few days...
I read everything from solenoids, pressure switches, bad gear, computer issue, bad torque converter, or bad all together.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
