05 RL drivers side rear view mirror loose

My drivers side mirror has about 1/4" of play in it....i am talking the entire piece of fiberglass that folds up, not the glass. I want tighten it up, but cant figure out how to get at it.

I presume it is through the bottom base, where there appears to be a plastic access plate with a small notch in it, but it doesnt pop off easily and i am hesitant to really force it off. Is there some sort of special tool or way to get this easier?

Just take a small flathead screwdriver and pry it off. Nothing to worry about there.

Wrap your tool before you try to get it off.

That came out wrong. Place a cloth over the screwdriver to avoid scratches.

I had better luck using a 90 degree dental pick.
