Hello my Acura Kings and Queens.. I have a question.. My 05 dvd nav unit is acting up. (who's hasen't lol) well I got one (an 08 nav dvd unit) from a junk yard and it works.. Here is the problem. It only shows the compass.. I even ordered a NEW 2016 map update for this one and still a COMPASS. It does not even have any "map/nav" prompts. Can an 08 unit go into an 05 with no problems? all the connections was the same.. I heard getting the 05 unit fixed was expensive. I got the 08 unit for $100 (I wondered why now)..

Please help me. I put the 05 unit back in but I know it is going to freeze at least once per day (it's aggravating) even the new disk works and show the updated map.. will my 08 DVD unit work? OR how do I know this is a nav or non-nav unit?

You bought a non-nav unit, i.e. a base model unit. If they advertised it as a navigation drive I would say you have legitimate reason for a refund.
