that just means the ECM thinks there is no oil pressure. It could actually be an oil pressure problem BUT chances are its just the oil pressure sender being disconnected or damaged... Ive seen the wire harness get chewed by small animals before and that caused the oil light to illuminate on other cars. Probably the same deal here.

Safety Car
Dopes6070 is probably correct, but if the oil pump is gone, that is a big problem...call the dealer to make sure you are ok to drive there....maybe the car makes the distinction between low oil level and no oil pressure...not sure based on the manual...
Low Oil Pressure Indicator
This indicator should never
come on when the engine is
running. If it starts flashing or stays
on, or if you see a ‘‘CHECK ENGINE
OIL LEVEL’’ message on the multiinformation
display, the oil pressure
has dropped very low or lost
pressure. Serious engine damage is
possible, and you should take
immediate action.

Is there any reason that this indicator going off and the battery being dead would be related? Or is it sheer coincidence that they happened on the same night? My car's barely been starting the last couple days and it finally died on me at my sisters house tonight. I had to jump the car to get back but when I did, the code cleared and the oil indicator went off. wtf...

I was going to say something, but it was his first post.

We have another Ian now, and he seems to be doing a fine job. You always start polite. Then after seeing the same shit time and time again, you just start being frank and people mistake it as being an asshole. I am part of the committee that is pursuing an internet knowledge/awareness test that must be completed and passed to get your AZ handle.

Oil light comes on and goes away. Bad sensor?
Hello,
I sometimes get the low oil light warning sign. It displays then quickly goes away within a second.
My car had bad motor mounts and I was thinking it could come from the motor shaking. I changed the
mounts out and still get the low oil warning message. There's no leaks and the oil level is normal.
2 things that I can think of:
Any other ideas? Has this happened to anyone before?

Is it just the light flickering or are you getting the low oil flashing on the MID? How old is your battery? Many odd symptoms like this can be chalked up to and old/dying battery on the RL.

It's a low oil light (orange light) on the cluster. It comes on occasionally.

check seal oil pump seal sensor wire breakage as well as other leaks <- Translation
Sami I'd make sure that indeed the oil level is ok. Coz if not battery, or other electrical, it could signal oil level is borderline too low.

Oil light won't show a borderline low levels. The oil light will come on at borderline catastrophic levels.

oil level low fault
I had a oil level fault even though there was no light on the dash board. I chose check later. Got home, check the oil the next morning oil level is fine. It happened twice already and I have noticed that this seem to happen when I put the gear to "S". Few hours later I would get this fault

Seems similar to this regardless of the light: https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...sensor-951903/
