Looks really good. How is the ride with the new coil springs.

OMG finally! this is amazing - looks good as the second gen desperately needs it! I I was looking into getting custom springs to that exact spec but just could not find anyone here in Canada to do it. Could you please share with us how the ride quality is vs stock? How much where the springs and where to get your exact springs. Please PM me if you cant share the info on the open forum due to some of the rules. Thanks!

Its still a very good ride, but seems to have a little crispness over larger bumps (uneven manhole covers, deep potholes). Kinda luxury Sport. Hard to explain. but not rough by any means. I went back and trimmed bump stops to make sure it wasn't bottoming out. now in process of straightening the camber. I will get some more pictures after that to see if it has settled any.

The reason Acura put such a soft suspension and fat tire on this gen (besides following trends like sheep) is because the chassis is just not that refined in terms of transferring bumps and shock into the cabin. I personally believe that a quality suspension lowered mildly and a touch stiffer will have big performance improvements all around on this car including comfort or not much harsher then what it is currently.

Rear: Are you going to be replacing the rear shock with a better one? (1st gen rdx and other custom options with dampening knob)

Front: Not sure how long the front stock strut will last lowered and if there even is a beefier replacement? - for now.

Camber: I believe we can get away with a camber bolt up front as for the rear not sure.....?

Is your drop 2.25" front and 1.75" rear? Spring rates?

Sorry about all the question but this is really exciting for me as it has been driving us (wifey and I) nuts since we got our 2016 AWD and just are disgusted by the stock wheel and suspension combo.

Currently keeping original shocks I only have 1200 miles on my RDX. The rears may interchange with something improved, but not sure about the front. I am going for SPC camber bolts in front. In the rear, the factory adjustment are NOT enough. So I'm trying a few things, I will update soon.

Camber solved, Honda S2000 adjustable ball joints in the rear. Direct replacement. Installed them today after work. Just use the original Acura nut with flange. The aluminum lower arm has a steel insert for ball joint taper and the flange is large enough to cover the insert and aluminum (to help from pulling the insert out) as it sits I have positive camber in the rear. I will have it aligned in the next few days and let them pull it back in to spec.

Stock vs SPC 67220

Right Rear Installed.

Nice work! Great info to have, your doing all the right R&D lol. You can actually see the corrected camber maybe even to much but an alignment will solve all that. Have you done the front camber bolts yet?

Also check your inbox! I have a few questions for you.

Yes, front is done it's a lil positive or at 0. But I'm just checking it with a framing square and tape measure on concrete. But it will let me know It can get there. I have to return the mdx ball joints, I ordered those first hoping they would work. They have a 14mm thread all other Honda's I found have a 10mm thread. So RDX's and S2000's are the only Acura/Honda's with 12mm threads. Then I was lucky enough that the press in housing was the same 36mm.One drawback to some is this moves the top out keeping the original distance from fender face to wheel face. Most new Honda/Acuras move the bottom in, which is great for staggered wheel setups. I wanted to keep mine same all around on this project.
I also tweaked one other thing. The spindle/hub bolts to the forward lower arm by 4 nuts (studs) two top and two bottom. Since the angle of the hub is changing I shimmed the top 2 out so it will not twist the front bushing so much.

Still Good. Nothing has Changed, drives and Handles Great. You should be able to contact coil spring Specialties. They should have all specs on file.

I just found my next mod. I'm going to order a set of springs asap. Anyone in particular you talked to at CSS?

So the front you used an oem ball joint but you shimmed it? Can you show a picture of the shim job?

RDX looks great!

The Front uses a SPC alignment eccentric bolt. The shims was on the rear lower arm to keep the camber change from binding the lower arm bushing.

I just noticed yours is FWD. Mine is AWD. The extra weight will require a little more spring force, and probably longer uncompressed length. How did you go about getting the spring rates you did? Did you send them your coils to figure out initial spring force?

Radical any updates?

How is everything riding? How are your stock struts holding up? - Have you figured out what you will upgrade your stock struts too once blown?

Do you know what increased spring rates you went with and what stock is? I want to drop my 2016 awd RDX 2" front and 1.5" rear but I want to increase the rear rate a bit for some more over steer handling (poor mans SHAWD lol)

I tried to contact CSS, they don't have a email. Can you inbox me what email you used? Thanks

Sorry about all the questions but this info would be much appreciated for the sake of the 2nd gen potential.

I just picked up an AWD. Did you happen to get this done yet? Would LOVE to lower mine. Thanks.

Radical,

I tried to call Coil spring specialties to order the springs and they could not find any information for the springs in their system.

They asked if you can share any information they can look up in the system.
Whether order number or part number.

Can you share some information for us to order the same springs?
