255/55/19 Tire Fitment

Guys,

I am taking delivery of a 2014 RDX this weekend and I've already started to think of mods.

My first mod is to change the 18' wheels for 19s. I've found a set of 19' Katana GTM that I want to install. Spec: 19 x 8.5

Please advise if I can use 255/55/19s or maybe even 60 profiles?

55 and 60 profiles would be to high....over 3% in rolling diameter.
this would make your speedometer off.

head to http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator
and play around with the calculator and you'll be able to find the right sized tire for your RDX.

a 255/50/19 would be about the same rolling diameter as the stock 235/60/18's

Has anyone put a 255 tire on their 2nd gen RDX? Looked at some tire sites, seems 255/55/18 would be 0.1 inches larger in diameter than the stock 235/60/18. But just wondering if there would be any issues with the steering...do the front tires have enough space?

Would love to get some info if anyone has actually done it on their RDX. Also would love to see if anyone has pics...

Hi Masta,

Did you ever install these 255 tires on the stock wheels? If so, what did you think? I'm looking to upgrade the stock Advance wheels, but am curious how this option might work out.

im riding 255/50/19 right now and they're great. no issues at all with clearance or rubbing.
wheels are 19x8.5 +32 and fitment is pretty flush in the rear. the front pokes a bit but i don't mind
traction has improved a bit because of the wider foot print but nothing major, at least to me.
the biggest difference i noticed was the handling. the steering feels heavier but that could also be due to the heavy wheels that i had put on.

there's plenty of guys on here running 19s or even 20s with no issues at all. as long as you stick within the correct wheel diameter, you should be good
