08 TL 18" rims on a 14 RDX Tech AWD

Just need a spare set of rims to put my winter tires on. looking at some used rims off of a 08 TL. This is an aluminum wheel with a diameter of 18" and a width of 8.5". This Acura TL wheel has 5 lug holes and a bolt pattern of 115mm. The offset of this Acura TL rim is 45mm. it also has TPMS sensors installed. Would this work on my 14 RDX?

thanks!

'08 TL came with 17"x8" wheel +45 5x114.3
The only 18"x8.5" wheels were A Spec from earlier models and very rare, so better check the donor wheels to be sure.

yup those are A-spec wheels. Might want to consider cleaning and selling them (if they are in good condition as the rarity might make them worth something).

According to willtheyfit.com the A-spec rims will be 25.4 mm wider (12.7mm each way). Is that going to be a big deal?

The TPMS sensors won't work since they are the old style that don't auto-pair with the RDX computer, but it might be possible to program them to work, not sure about that. The wheels will work fine, just make sure you have 235 or 245 winter tires. Some may say the 235's might be too narrow for a 8.5 inch wheel but most winter tires have a wider tread than summer tires of the same size so I don't think it will be a problem. My 235 winter tires measured almost 245.

Thanks for the info! I'm glad to hear the wheels will fit. I did double check my tires and they will accommodate an 8.5" rim. Will call the dealership to see if they can re-program the TPMS....

Just to be OCD, You said the bolt pattern was 115 mm. Never heard of that. Are you sure its not 114.3 mm?

Resurrecting an old thread in the spirit of Halloween here....I also have a set of 04 TL Aspec wheels that I want to put on a 16 RDX for dedicated winter (or summer?) wheels. Looks like as long as I get the appropriate tires, it should work fine. Wondering if OP ever went through with this, would love to see a pic of them on the car.

My only concern would be that fact that the wheels were made for a lighter passenger sedan. Otherwise it should fit from what others said.

The difference in weight between the two vehicles appears to be about 350 lbs which I guess isn't too bad.

If the only difference in the wheels is the Aspec ones being 25mm (1 inch) wider total, I guess my concern is clearance from the wheel knuckle and suspension components. And whether or not tires with a higher aspect ratio would still clear. The RDX has higher aspect ratio tires by default, verses the TL which traditionally has lower aspect ratio tires on them. I'd imagine the ride will be a bit harsher if I stick with something similar to stock tires on the aspecs. Coincidentally, the absolutely trashed set of tires currently on the wheels I bought them with are Yokohama 235/40ZR18 95W , and I wouldn't doubt if they were previously on a track car. I have never even seen that Z rating before now. Either way, I suppose I'm not in a huge rush to get tires on these wheels, though I am leaning towards putting a summer tire on them for the RDX. I'll obviously post an update when that time comes around.
