2017 RDX Navigation System
I just bought a 2017 RDX and have been trying the nav system around town, where i have lived for 30 years. The system routinely makes errors, routing me in less than optimal routings. Is this a problem others are experiencing? Is the nav system deficient? It certainly does not give me confidence in using it in areas in which I am not familiar.

I use my smartphone and Google Maps on an Anker mount. The NAV system is ok for status enroute. When I get close in and really want to know where I'm going, the phone works better. It also does a better job of considering traffic in its estimates. I have seen traffic work exactly one time on the RDX, and the NAV doesn't seem to include it in its calculations. Auto manufacturers are never going to be more nimble than Google at incorporating new functions, updates, etc.
Probably the dumbest oversight on the entire vehicle is that NAV can't use the addresses in your phone's contact list.
