2016 RDX circulation button inop

Before my old A has to get down and check the fuse box, I figured I'd ask about this first. Can the recirculation light that is not lighing up be caused by a blown fuse? All other lights work... defrost, etc. We can live without having it, but my main concern is having it on all the time. Iam not sure what mode it is in, on or off. Any ideas on where to check/look? Thnaks.

There are some electrical components control module and actuator door) in the HVAC system so it is logical that a fuse may exist. I could be wrong but I would suspect all the related devices would be tied to the main HVAC fuse. On some cars if the windshield defroster mode is on it inhibits the recirculation button. Hit the "Auto" button, reduce the temperature and recheck the behavior. As an aside, when is the last time you replaced the cabin air filter?

By the way here in the Northeast the button is often called the "jersey button" because when you travel through New Jersey you always have to have recirc ON>

If there were a separate fuse for each button illumination, the weight of the fuse box and wiring would be half the total weight of the car. I think something happened to the button LED, possibly damaged by liquid.

You can always replace it, it's very easy to do.

If your blend door is stuck and because of this the lamp does not light, then the DTC should appear in the self-diagnostics.

Well mech guy(neighbor) tried his one code reader, but nothing popped up, so he said he had to find his other one and charge it up. He's older and has viticulitous?? Anyway, once he feels better and can find his other reader and charge it, Ill hopefully know where to go with this.
Would hate to buy that Ebay unit , thnx altair47, ... and then find out it is the blend door/actuator and or just a bad LED. Ugghhhhh.

You don't need a code reader, if you have a color screen, the car should tell you the HVAC status itself.

No color screen. Basic model, Back-up camera and thats it. Im leaning towards getting the modual unit on ebay and am currently looking thru the threads to see if Dave posted a how-to/schematic/pdf on
replacing/removing one of those. From the pics of the unit, looks like it will be more than just poping it out. I tend to break things, so slow and steady.

TY. Yes, I watched this vid and just about all of them regarding replacing/repairing the actuator, I just dont know if it is the actuator yet, not to mention nobody has done a vid
about the recirc one, just the blend/direction, but Im guessing they are all the same. Which reminds me, I need to search Daves posts on where the recirc actuator is.
This rabbitt hole is getting deeper. Do this, but before you do this you should do this, then find where this is then do this after, but before you do that...etc.. Good times..

PS> I watrched a vid of a pretty compitent guy with a Caddy and he was trying to do a DIY he read about . He said the shop book called for 9+ hours @ $250 an hour. After watching it all... in the end ...he failed.
