80,000 miles and almost 5 years of ownership report
Well heres my 4 years and 9 months report. Car has 80,000 as of today. Besides warped rotors at 24K miles there hasn’t been any problems. I have changed fluids at recommended intervals. Breaks have been done twice. Tires have been replaced once. The only modifications are:
- tinted windows
- vent visors
- S-VCM to deactivate the pesky VCM II

Sure, no problem I'll explain. My experience with VCM in this car was very disappointing. The transmission had a really bad vibration when VCM engaged around 1500 RPM. VCM also messed with the transmission software and it was causing delayed shift downs from 2nd to 1st gear causing a thump or bump. All those issues have been eliminated since I deactivated the VCM.

I am having the same vibrations at intermittent speeds and a lot at high speeds. I just purchased a 2017 rdx cpo last week and the vibration is coming and going. I am taking it back to the dealership this week. I read on the forum there is a recall for a software update along with changing the transmission fluid. Do you think the vcm is the problem?

I think it's both. But the dealer can't do anything about the VCM. The VCM only helps Honda's corporate average fuel economy. It saves the owner barely 1 MPG.
You could save that much with tire inflation and driving habits. (But damn this thing is fun to accelerate)

Thanks for your input. I really like the truck and it sucks that this is a problem. I drive a lot of modified cars and they drive a lot better than this truck. The only reason I bought this truck was to relax and not worry about the snow. But if this continues I will not keep the truck. The vibration bothers me along with the idea of wasting a great deal of money on a brand I thought would be more efficient and comfortable than their competitors. I guess my dealership battle will continue for the next several months lol.
