Alternative to OEM body side moldings
Many years ago (when I was experimenting with ownership of non-Honda cars - don't ask) I was in search of a set of body side moldings that matched the car, held up, and didn't cost a fortune. OEM wasn't available in my car. I had recently bought a rear wing for my son's '04 Civic Coupe from www.sportwing.com , and since they offered body side moldings, I tried a set for my car. They held up great, and I've ended up using these on all my cars since, even those with OEM side moldings.
What are they? Paint-matched to OEM colors, relatively narrow side moldings held on with single wide-width 3M tape that are tapered at the ends. They hold up really well (had 2 sets last for 5 years), and blend in very well. I put a set on the RDX this past week, since I didn't really like the size/design of the OEM ones - plus they were about $70 cheaper overall.
I've put a couple of pics below, so you can decide for yourself. You can find these moldings at either www.sportwing.com, or on ebay. Just choose the OEM color and you'll get a set with easy install instructions
