Seat Fix?

I have been looking at cars to replace my 2008 VW Passat VR6 motion wagon. I drove the RDX and really liked it. BUT, my Passat taught me one thing: for comfort, I need seats with longer bottoms. My Passat had them (I bought it two years old, picked for the acceleration and handling), and it is the only car that was really comfortable for me. The RDX seat is very short, coming barely halfway down the back of my leg. I do have to drive with the seat all the way back but that is the case in most vehicles except those from the Germans and the Scandinavians. Volvo XC60 had the most comfortable seats but not the most engaging ride and terrible fuel economy. The BMW X3 has options with sports seats. If I bought the BMW, I would buy CPO. I would buy the RDX if I could get the seats altered or replaced. It would probably be worth the money in the long run simply because the RDX is tops in reliability. Savings in aggravation and driving to the dealership is worth a lot of money. Sure, the BMW has lots of clever stuff, but at the end of the day, the RDX has everything I really wanted: push-botton ignition (had it in a loaner car, and it went to the top of the list in two days), sunroof, navigation with back-up camera... and sports seats.

Any ideas for the RDX seats?

If you want longer bottom seats, I think your only option would be to replace the seats with aftermarket...But that seams more of a pain than anything.

The seats are extreemely comfortable in the RDX. I just drove 2300 miles in 6 days on vacation and was never uncomfortable or fatigued during the trip. Maybe take an extended test drive - keep it overnight. Drive a lot and see if the seats really do bother you or not.

I traded in a 2012 Passat due to the seat being so bad, it was causing major pain in my hamstring. I purchased a replacement cushion from VW & had an upholstery shop work on the seat several times. In the end I solved my seat issue, I purchased the RDX.

I have exactly the same issue; the car is perfect but the seats won't work. The seats in the MDX are perfect but I need to research if they can be swapped. Does anyone know?
