Acura RDX caliper covers

Hey everyone yes it's me again! Haha

I work as a detailer while I'm in school and detailed a 2014 Acura RDX yesterday. I always look for parts I don't have or haven't seen yet. On this particular RDX it had black with white lettering Acura caliper covers that actually bolted down. Figured I'd share with the community. Not something I would purchase but had to share. I personally would only run the RL calipers with the etched in Acura logo.

So if you want to add these to a '16, the first thing I'd do is look at an online parts blowout of a '15 vs a '16 and see if the calipers are the same. If so (meaning that the bolt hole for the cover would be there on the '16) I'd guess the next step is order the 2 covers and 2 bolts and just add the covers on a '16. I like the look on my '15 (and considering seeing if they'd fit the wife's TL SH-AWD....

Yeah the 2016's don't have them. They are just silver like normal calipers. Is that cover standard on all the 13-15 models? If that's the case and they are oem I would look into doing this. Easy mod and I could probably get them for a decent price.

Wouldn't look half bad on the TL either. I would opt for those as well if it doesn't effect my wheel clearance assuming they fit.

Also on a side note: Do all the cross bar mounting brackets sit at an angle like this one pictured? Looked off to me but the actual cross bars themselves were horizontal with the roof.

^ahhh, now i see why you started this thread...

over on the 3G TL side, we've been buying the 2013-15 RDX covers ever since we found out about them in late 2012, early 2013.

we dont bother with the screw and apply them with epoxy.

so, i agree with AndySinh...if your calipers have the bolt hole, then they would just slap on with the bolt!

So will these not work with the '16s? I've seen these online listed for the '15s but don't mention the '16s. Wasn't sure if it was just because the site hadn't updated to reflect it yet or if it wouldn't actually work. If they'll work I'll probably order them after the coming winter after I get my winters taken off.

I haven't looked at my OEM ones yet to see if the setup is the same but since the 16 is just the facelift version of the 13-15 I pretty much assume they are the same with a few noticeable differences.

That was my assumption as well.

I just went to oemacuraparts.com and looked at the parts blow-out for a '16 and a '15 RDX front caliper. They're different rev's of the part. The '15 is an -A02 and the '16 is an -A10 - so it's hard to tell what the difference is between these rev's. But it's also clear that the caliper cover, while pictured in both years, is not orderable for the '16..... Clear as mud....
