Plasti dip Grille?

I'm not the best in terms of taking apart my car, do you guys think I could get away with just taping and putting newspaper around the grille so I could just plasti dip the beak without taking the grille itself off?

What I'm thinking is the sides of the beak is a bit tight but I'm not sure and I want it to spray evenly on there so I can rip it off in one piece later
