My wife killed her battery. I had it jump started but am afraid that damage was done with the deep cycle discharge over several weeks leaving the battery connected. I tried to disconnect the battery but the battery post is still connected. I assume you pry with a screw driver then? Is it hard to pull off the battery post when getting a new battery. Also any recommendations?

 

I suggest you go and have the battery installed. Every major city has a battery store. I have never paid to have one installed at such a place.
(I think the dealer has charged to replace a battery under warranty, but that has only happened to me twice) Even then it wasn't much.
The quality of the install will matter in the long run.
My last battery was changed by AAA. I did not pay for that install either.
