Phone holder

I'd like to get some feedback on what people use to hold their phones in the car. I own one of
these these
but it doesn't really fit anywhere. Right now I have it hanging off the front bin into the driver's leg area, which is not only too low to see but potentially dangerous as well.

I'm interested in one of
these phone holders these phone holders
that mounts to the CD slot hole. I don't see myself using the CD player anyways, and it got really good reviews.

What do you guys use?

With the Bluetooth, display and steering wheel buttons I have no need to see the phone so I put mine in the bin in front of the shifter.

I agree with GRDX...no need to have access to the phone. Bluetooth does it all for you. I put mine in my console and let the interface do all the work.

I have an iPhone 4 with a rubberized case (the one that came with the phone to cure the antenna issues). I set mine on the top of the front bin. I keep the sliding door closed and the iPhone wire sticking out. The case keeps the phone from sliding and I usually don't forget my phone (I tried putting it in the bin, but would realize I left it in the car 90% of the time).

Yeah I just throw mine into the front bin and leave it there. I just wish the iPhone supported the text features the RDX has. My Windows phone was great for this. If I am driving a long distance I don't notice all the texts I have missed until I get out of the car.

I use the Bluetooth too (so awesome), but I take 3-4 different routes home depending on where the traffic is, and I like to keep Google Maps open on my phone with traffic information. I know Navigation + XM traffic data does the same thing, but it doesn't show street-level traffic.

I took my own advice and got the Mountek MT5000-D, and I really like it! Doesn't move at all, and it's positioned just right. Highly recommended.

Can you mount it upside down? I want to buy one too, but I'm worried that the knob on the bottom of the Mountek will touch the volume knob in the car. My RDX doesn't have navigation so the volume knob is closer to the CD slot. Also, how much space is there between the Mountek knob and the dash?

Mine's mounted upside down. If you look closely at my second picture, you'll clearly see the knob up top. I didn't try mounting it with the knob at the bottom, but I don't think it will fit because of the slanted dash.

There's a bit of gap between the knob and the dash, the nice thing is that it doesn't move at all, so you don't have to worry about it moving around scratching everything. I've attached a picture, it's a finger's gap between the knob and the dash.

Thanks C0rrion!
I already ordered mine, waiting to receive it.
