Unhappy Wife just bought a gently used 2017 RDX and we're sure remote start is intermittent

as the title of the post explains, the remote start works only some of the time, I'm a electronics trouble shooter for a living so I've tried the obvious, going closer to the vehicle, the batteries in the fobs are new,did the lock, then the hold down the engine start button for a couple of seconds, not quite sure what the issue could be. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I think there is a typo in your heading or I'm simply reading it wrong - but that aside are you seeing the lights on the fob flash appropriately? As it's a 17 and assuming under 50K on the odometer, you always have the dealer as a fall back under warranty.

oops just noticed the typo after reading it, yeah we will also talk to the gentleman wo sold it to us at the dealer. we just didn't want to bug him already as we just picked it up last night. it worked a couple of times.

Others may chime in on their experience but ours is driven by my wife, so I don't have a lot of experience but it has worked. Not sure she is using the remote start much herself, but I can go take a look and potentially come back to you with specifics In terms of the dealer - you don't necessarily have to deal with the salesman as this would be done in the shop. Although with that said - this is part of what the salesman's job is..............

The remote start for my 2017 works reliably, provided I am close enough to the vehicle, typically within ~150 feet. If the pressing the remote's Lock button is received by the car (as acknowledged on the remote's LED not flashing Red), then the remote start always works, provided I hold it down long enough to get the green light.

Hit the "Lock" button on your remote first, then try the remote start.

We took my wife's RDX out yesterday so I did the remote start a couple of times because of this thread.

Key pieces here are locking the RDX first and holding down the Engine button long enough. Hit Lock button and then hit Engine button and - HOLD - HOLD - HOLD - HOLD - HOLD
