Trade in 2015 Base for the 2016 Tech?
I bought my 2015 Base July last year and I now have almost 18K miles on it (I love taking road trips!). The one thing I miss on the base is the power lift gate. It didn't bother me at first but has started to irritate the crap out of me lately. I also find myself on some very rare occasion wishing I had the nav, but not enough to want drive me nuts.
Anyone trading in their 2nd gen base for a 2016 Tech, or is it just not worth it?

I get where you're coming from. But I think now would be really bad timing. I'd wait at least another year once the 16 isn't such a new commodity. I'm new to Acura (joining in with the 16 RDX), but I'm not familiar if they ever do promotional trade in type deals.. Might be best to watch for something like that. I definitely think now is too soon though.

Not worth it. It also depends on how much you bought your 2015 Base. Right now, the dealers are not giving big discounts on the 2016, especially the Tech pkg.
Let's take our situation as an example, we got our 2015 Base for $31,850. The base 2016 goes for $35k and you add the Tech pkg, it goes up to $38k. And you'll be lucky to get more than $1k off MSRP on those today. So you have $6k or $5k difference between a new 2015 Base and 2016 Tech. KBB lists a used 2015 RDX with 18k miles at around $30k. So you'll lose $8k or $7k depending how much you bought your 2015 Base.
$8k is a lot of money for Jewel Eye Headlights, Nav, Power Tailgate and Blind Spot Info. When I watched Alex's review on the 2016 RDX, I was glad we picked the 2015, it's not much different and we saved money. If you care about the sound system, then that's the huge difference between the stock premium vs the ELS. ELS is leaps and bounds better. The interior looks exactly the same, except for the infotainment screen.
I think in 3 years the RDX is going to be redesigned so it's much better for you to wait on that completely redesigned RDX.

In your case, you might likely lose much more. Please be sensible while spending your hard earned money (and selecting the preferred model of car). In your situation I would wait 3 years or so till the next full model refresh and enjoy life in your current car until then. The base RDX is a fine car BTW. Good luck.
