review of RDX loaner

Hey all!

I usually drive a TL SH-AWD. I have been driving a 2013 RDX for a few days as a loaner.

I just want to speak up and say this is a really good vehicle!

It has a really great power train. The 6 speed is really smooth. There is Auto Sport mode, and then full manual control if you want it. I'm suprised how peppy this thing is.

The suspension is comfortable, and there isn't much body roll at all, despite being really high up.

My only complaint is the steering feel is very very light. It's not loose, its accurate, but there isn't any weight there.

Also I do notice the lack of sh-awd but thats acceptable in a peppy suv.

Great job Acura. This is a extremely practicle vehicle.

Appreciate your comments, I've had it since June and agree with all your assessments. I'm really annoyed by some reviewers who say it has noticeable body roll, I've never encountered that. And the gas mileage is very good.

One concern is after having an MDX, the RDX is smaller than I am accustomed to in cargo capacity and cabin space. Time will tell if I can live with that long-term.

Litt...Thanks for the positive words about the RDX my fella Canadian friend! I love my TL to death but I sure enjoy the RDX as well! I am fortunate to be able to have both vehicle and drive the one that caters to the mood I am in that day

I agree that the steering feels light but as you said, it is accurate which is what matters because you do get accustomed to the lighter feel.....you really do.

Thanks for the positive review of the new RDX. It's always good to hear from a non bias source.
What did you think of it compared to the previous generation RDX?

Very practical indeed, the pep can be a little fickle, particularly when the A/C is on or during slow highway traffic when the engine can get a bit unhappy and unpredictable.
