RDX Key Fob

This resurgence of 'chrome' by way of painted plastic(and LOTS of it!) makes me sad.

Mine Looks exactly the same and this seems to happen with just the other keys rubbing against it. There was a running thread on how Cheaply made the key Fobs are. A lot of people seemed to buy fob covers to protect them, but I personally didn't want the extra bulk...
Not sure why Acura just doesnt use a a Black plastic casing like the Hondas. The silver painted plastic just causes the peeling and makes it look cheap.

I have a few keys on the ring, my leather wallet, and usually coins. I dont abuse it or drop it. One difference between any other key fob I've ever had is that it never leaves my pocket since the car has push button start.
All my previous cars including the 07 RDX fobs were all black so there was no paint on it. My sister has a two year old GLK350 and her fob has chrome on it and it still looks brand new.
The 2013 TL loaner I have at the moment has the same key fob and it's starting to look the same. So I dont think it's me. I could post a picture of it too if you want.
I think it is a manufacturing defect with the silver paint. It looks cool, but it scratches off easy.
