OP sorry to read about your RDX. I'm sure it'll work out for you. And that's a good idea to have the dealer start one of the new RDX's on the lot to compare.

Dealer is keeping it yet another day, this time no explanations. Called this morning to let them know I was on the way. Only thing they told me was it wasn't ready and that they were still "testing" it. This was supposed to be done Tuesday, then Wednesday, now today is going to be tomorrow... I'm going to have them deliver the car to me tomorrow instead of picking it up.

that's not good that means they jacked something up putting it back together or missed a damaged part somewhere. I would stop in unannounced to see what they are doing.

Just relax man, you got a loaner and they are working it out. Just in case you are having a little trouble figuring it out, you are putting mileage on their car this whole time and you are not paying for upkeep on the car...

I didn't see my car for more than a week a few times when I sent it in to the dealer and I just patiently waited until they called me saying it was done. I put some SERIOUS mileage on their loaner and they could have cared less...

Passing by just b/c is kinda out of the way. I live 45 minutes away when there's ZERO traffic, an hour with traffic. Also I don't mind waiting on the car, it's been over two weeks already, but not a big deal to me as a time stand point. The bigger issue is that it was "done" Tuesday evening, and now it's going to be "done" Friday... Well I'm wondering how good of a job they did if it wasn't running well after they said it's done... Either way, they are going to have to take care of it. It's just kinda inconvenient.

Might as well take a road trip this weekend. Enjoy the free mileage.

Update: called this morning, car was put together but still "isn't as quiet as a new one" so they believe it's two of the valves. They are going to adjust it some more.

They need to adjust a new engine into the car. Long, long time ago I had a Pontiac Bonneville where the transmission malfunctioned and they replaced it without trying to repair it. Acura should do the same with your engine. The goodwill would be worth it, IMO.

sounds like they tried to put a belt on it & get lucky. now their are looking for bent valves.. I agree with 5 acuras they should just drop a new motor in it then they could study yours all they want to see what happened

Got the car back today... when the dealer dropped it off at my work I couldn't drive it Bc I was working but I started it and it sounded fine.... About 9 hours later when I got off work I cranked it, had a slight tinny noise to it. Went away as it warmed up, and it drove fine from what I can tell. Have to adjust driving position over again but besides that I'll look more into it this weekend when im off. I work 14 hours a day so I won't be able to play with it on work days. I don't even get to leave for lunch so I have to have it delivered everyday.

Lol, drove it today, no ac on and all windows down.... At idle to 2k rpm you can't really hear the motor.... But at higher rpms it sounds funny but then again I rarely drive the car to know what it's supposed to sound like.

So sorry to hear that. Make sure you speak to corporate and get some kind of extended warranty on it outside of the extended warranty you bought.

Well I'm not worried about a warranty past 100k miles Bc the chance I keep it that long is slim... But I have been driving the car around today. And it drives well, but the 1-2 shift is kinda harsh. I'm thinking it's Bc I'm not used to driving it, or maybe my foot is a little heavy coming from a slow rsx and heavy escalade....

So any one else with a kinda hard 1-2 shift? Shifts close to 3k Rpm. I was thinking it's Bc the car has to "relearn" the driving patterns.
