RDX 2016 Extended Warranty
Hello All,
I just bought Acura RDX 2016 Technology package and dealer sold me 8 year/100k warranty and I am wondering if it is worth keeping the warranty or should i cancel it? Please advise. is it really worth paying $1755 + taxes for the extended warranty? Please help.

Consumer Reports recommends against it. I just bought a 16 RDX Adv and did not purchased the warranty. We have a 15 MDX Adv/Ent 10K and a 04 MDX with 192K miles on it. Neither has needed any warranty work

If you do purchase an Extended Warranty, would recommend you go with the AcuraCare warranty. When and if you have a warranty claim, it is so much easier getting the work done. I experienced using a third party warranty for a used car I purchased many years ago - it was a real hassle. I've had both an extended warranty for my Accord and TL (HondaCare & AcuraCare)- never any problems when I had to bring the car for a warranty item.

Your dealer didn't mark the price up too much, as $1,755 seems to be comparable to what can be bought online. Out of curiosity, was that plan with a $0 or $100 deductible? The dealership tried to sell us the AcuraCare warranty for $2,500 - I told them I would buy elsewhere. Just as a FYI - no sales tax on the warranty purchase if you buy online. Hyannis Honda has the best price for the 8 year / 100k / $0 deductible plan - price is $1,660.

Curious what color RDX did you get? My wife drives a '14 MDX graphite and it's my fav color but I'm thinking it would look corny if I also got graphite for my RDX

We got the extended warranty on our 2016 RDX for the same price and no regrets. To many bells and whistles on this advance package for us not to and we got the Acura care one. I have bought them before and usually get my money back and then some. If I don't use it oh well but we like the peace of mind.

Well, I'm going with Hyannis....the sales guy is even responsive to questions.
Even if Acuracare is a waste of money, you could add $1k+ to the value of the car just for having an Acura warranty that's transferable to the next owner. At that price it is almost a no brainer.
All prices are for $0 deductible and based on a 2015 RDX with Technology Package. I was trying to find the website for Bernardi, but I guess I got to call them OR maybe they have the same prices as Saccucci. If that's true, than Hyannis it is.
Oh, and no sales tax. I have settlement on Friday since I am buying with cash and I am so going to have fun with the F&I guy..."match this with my lowest quote, and make it inclusive of sales tax and we have a deal..." LOL!

Just got a quote from a dealer in NY for the AcuraCare extended warranty:
7y / 100k: $2400
8y / 100k: $2655
8y / 120k: $2915
These prices seem high...anyone else have a better price in the NY area?

Google saccucci honda acura warranty and get a quote. It'll come to your inbox within minutes. There are other dealers out these that sell AcuraCare warranties as well but I've bought 4 or 5 from Saccucci.

But, took this to another dealer (who I'm buying the car from), they are giving it to me for $1,900.

Good job. Are they going to match the price on the maintenance agreement too?

If you service your car at the dealership, then you might want to consider the maintenance plan (scroll down to the bottom of your saccucci email for pricing).

I do all my own maintenance and don't normally keep all my receipts, would it void the AcuraCare if I do all my own maintenance and not able to show any receipts? also, any special requirements(like all scheduled maintenance must be done, etc?) I have to do in order for Acura not to decline my claim when I do need to use it.

Who does the maintenance is immaterial as long as you can show that they were competent.
If you do your own maintenance, it is fine but you need to be able to show that the maintenance was done. The problem appears when there is a failure that is normally related to improper maintenance - and it is up to you to prove that the maintenance was done properly.
Start keeping receipts and hope you don't have a failure that could have been prevented or mitigated by maintenance and the manufacturer says "show me your records"
