Operation of A/C recirculation
Operation of A/C recirculation
I have a 13 RDX and can't quite figure out how the A/C system is supposed to work. This system seems to have a mind of it's own. If I turn on recirculate it goes off auto and sometimes it goes to recirculate by itself while on auto and the temp gets too cold even when the temp is set to the desired temp. While on auto and recirculate it won't go back to the mode that uses outside air.
I hope I explained this well enough. This is my third RDX and the other systems worked just fine.

Living in Alaska I have extreme cold and I have learned to explain it like this...I get in a cold car (hot car in your case). The temp gauge on the interior of the car that is in the dashboard is VERY cold. Well, the heat kicks on full blast to warm up the car right? My AUTO is set on 73º but it gets almost 80º for a bit. Why? I think it is because it takes time for that interior temp gauge to warm up to the 73º temp. Once it does the temp in the car levels out and is comfortable. Basically, it takes time for the surfaces in the car to warm up so the temp "overshoots" my desired setting for a little while.
When I lived in Vegas I had other brands of vehicles that did the same thing with the AC. Cars will go back and forth with recirculate to cool it down as fast as possible. The temp may overshoot until the actual temp gauge cools off (remember that air is not blowing across the temp gauge so it takes time).
Sorry for the long rant.
