Oddities - Fuel guage & homelink

Just filled up for the time today. Tank was 2-3 notches from empty according to the fuel guage -- topped it off and the gauge is way past the 'F' mark. Anyone notice the same?

Also, my homelink button for my garage door is flaky as hell. It sometimes work, sometimes doesn't. It worked OK closing the door, but when I went back home it wouldn't open!
When I press it, the homelink LED blinks....Do I have it programmed correctly?

Nevermind, I think I figured out the homelink issue... I didn't have my antenna wire on my opener extended all the way down, so I think it just wasn't getting the signal.

Hmmm... I never thought about checking how my garage opener antenna wire is positioned to possibly improve the range. I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks.

The gauge on almost all cars will show to be past full when gassed up to the maximum. It's normal.

It's way higher up than my old Accord. More than 1/8 tank higher past F.

My wire, for some reason, was sitting on top of the opener, so it was horizontal. Not good for signal reception. I pulled it down and extended it so it's pointing straight down.

Just a minor difference in the gauges. Mine goes way up there, too.

AnalogDE....I don't want to burst your bubble but many people (myself included) have commented and are experiencing the same problem as you are having about the homelink. What you describe, having the intermittent reception is exactly what I have....sometime it will work from way far as I am driving toward the house and other times, I am literally within 20-30 feet and it won't work. Its puzzling but let us know if you notice that the symptoms re-develop. I have my wire extended all the way down too....and my TL, NEVER an issue with the homelink whatsoever.

Mine just plain and simple doesn't work!!

Wait. Do I need a garage in order for this feature to work? Because if so, then that's my problem. No garage.

I had issues yesterday when I got home from work. My Homelink garage opener would not work after pushing it several times. I know it does work because I used it to close the garage door yesterday morning when I went to work. It also did not work this morning. I am an impatient person so I just used the old garage door opener that has always worked perfectly. I don't have any answers, just that yes, I am also experiencing this difficulty with the Homelink system in the RDX.

Well, since lowering the antenna wire my homelink is working like a champ.

I reprogramed mine. It stopped working completely, but seems to be working just fine now.

Mine has worked really well, vast majority works from end of my 120ft drive way. Two weeks ago I installed a controlable wireless security cam to keep an eye on my dogs from work and since then I have to have the nose of my RDX 10 ft or less from the door for it to work. I'm thinking it has to be the cam.

Agree. I think intermitent inferference is a big problem. Homelink even has a section on their website on how to track down what is interfering with their signal and it is not just wireless stuff. I haven't bothered to investigate because I need all the stuff that might be interfering to work more than I need increased range on the homelink. However, it does seem to me that any interference would impact both the handheld unit, homelink in other cars and the RDX unit equally. Many people (including me) have found the RDX homelink has much less distance than the homelink in other cars or the handheld.

I'm not buying the interference thing. I traded in an Infiniti that I had 10 years on the RDX. The Homelink in the Infiniti worked from out in the street easily. The Homelink in the RDX usually works only about 10-30 ft out from the door. And sometimes I can be sitting with the front end of the RDX 5 ft. from the door and have to push the button several times. It's not a big problem but bothers me that a Homelink system in a 10 year newer vehicle doesn't work nearly as well as the old one. My other two vehicles have old remotes that work fine from the street as well. I have a friend with an old Camry and they can open their door from down the street and zip right into their garage. Meanwhile I'm sitting like a dodo in my driveway waiting for my garage door to raise. Aggravating at times.

I have to keep the button pressed for about 2 seconds for my home link to work. It works all the time though.

Yeah, mine's working 100% now. You do need to hold the button down for a bit.
