New diamond grill for RDX: if and when?

2017 MDX has new grill. When will this change be made to RDX?

No for now. We are happy with our "beaks". .
I simply feel that the diamond grill is not much of an improvement over the existing grill. They need to change the grill designers. Maybe hire someone from Mazda. Thank you.

I was never a fan of the beak, but it was starting to get somewhere. They really should have tweaked it some more and went from there. Look at bmw for example, they have had the same basic grille design forever and have only tweaked it a little bit. While Acura has completely changed it up like 5 times in 15 years.

Lexus is trying to get that recognizable grill design like Benz,Audi and BMW.
I've owned a few Lexus models and absolutely hate the new front designs and why I'm in a RDX.
The beak doesn't work and I can see Acura moving away from it sooner than later.

Wont be for about 3 years when they change the models. The present beak to me is quite nice.

Correct. MDX and eventually TLX will get it because they are newer designs and it fits well with their mid cycle redo's.

RDX and ILX never will until their full redesigns, which will come sooner than the other newer models.

3 years? The RDX is in the fifth model year of its current run - I don't think it's gonna be 3 more years til an all new one. It also looks like the next CRV is hitting before the end of the year as a MY2017 and assuming nothing has changed the RDX will be based on the same architecture. Unless Acura shoved everything back for whatever reason it seems somewhat likely that the next RDX will be MY2018. FWIW Autonews has the RDX redesign hitting next year.

I'm not sure if I like this new diamond grill. I think the current model looks great.
