I went to the Acura dealer origionally to buy an 11 or 12 rdx. Got in the 12 and thought, "this is not what I was hoping for". Just did not have a good solid feel. Lots of hard plastic and just felt cheap. Then did my test drive and found myself smiling the whole time. A real fun car to drive. That said, when I got into the new 13 they had just received, I settled into the seat and thought, "this feels like luxury". The drive did not have the same wow, but was still fun. Guess which one I chose? I love my 13 and have no regrets.

Hm, so you call the 2013 RDX a better performer than the 1st gen. Wow. All performance is not measured in a straight line. I would say as far as steering, firmness, body roll, cornering, road feel, and lat g, just to name a few, are far superior in Gen 1. The gen 1 had character and it never held itself out to be anything other than an aspiring performer to smash what was the then-best performer, the X3. The 2007 RDX was incredible in its purest form (before they started screwing with the suspension feel). Times have changed, but when I think 'performance', im surely not thinking MPG. Thats what the Gen 2 is for, the cheaper Lex RX shopper.

The bottom line for me when I was shopping for crossovers was that the previous gen RDX just looked too budget and low end to me. When I saw it at the dealership, the 2007-2012 RDX reminded me of an old Toyota RAV4 or really old KIA Sportage from the late 90's.

It did NOT look like a vehicle from a luxury/prem brand. And the interior matched the exterior. Very cheap and low grade in presentation.

No offense, but couldn't see myself rollin in an econobox like that. Just couldn't do it no matter how nice the old RDX drove.

you are not going to hear any argument from me about the RDX not being luxurious. Its not, not even close. Nor is the 2nd gen, its better, but still not luxurious. The gen 1 is a joke in the lux department, however, it was completely irrelevant to me, as well

You can argue the merits of the gen 1 all you want but no one here really cares.

nor do I, but for your reference, see the TITLE of this thread. These are my thoughts vs the 2nd gen.
