Light Steering Fixed in 2014 Model?

When i test drove the new Rdx the first thing that really turned me sour over my 07 Rdx was the new elec steering. IMHO it is just terrible and way too light. Any chance they have tweaked it for 2014 MYs?

Nah. Nothing changed about the 2014 models other than a new available paint color. They basically just started stamping '14 on what used to be 2013 RDX as they came off the assembly lines.

I remember when I first test drove the 2013 I had no idea the steering was so soft. I would drive my fiances 2001 toyota camry from time to time when I drove other vehicels such as a 06' rsx, 07' pilot, and an 05' civic to name a few and the steering in the camry was more soft than those vehicles. I was surprised how soft the steering was in the camry. But when I drove the 2013 RDX I thought holy crap this is way too sensitive. Now that I had the RDX for about 6 months now, I love how the steering feels. Now the steering in the camry feels hard, lol

I was concerned too when I first test drove the RDX. But after having it for 8 months I don't have a problem with the steering at all. It tracks on the expressway nicely and is great in parking lots. Have to be careful about making sudden adjustments on the freeway in traffic as it is quick to respond.

I agree too....even though the steering appears soft, it doesn't change the fact that it is still very accurate. The perception of softness does go away as you drive the vehicle even more thus increasing the "secure" feeling you get from a stiffer steering.

It is also speed dependent. It is light at low speeds but firms up at higher speeds.
