GPS Data 2013 Acura RDX

Hi,

I was wanting to find out if my kid was driving my car to unapproved locations; However, all of the GPS Data is removed. Is there any way I can extract the data even after it was deleted from the GPS Navigation System? I would like to double check and make sure without showing that I'm overtly aware.

if the kid DELETED all of the GPS data, the kid went to unapproved locations.
p.s. I didnt know navigation systems record locations. (or my 2006 acura TL doesnt unless i choose the option "breadcrumbs")

Of course...trying to find out where....is there any way that can be done?

not very likely! it would have been easier to track kid's phone

Don't believe the GPS system keeps track of where the vehicle has been unless of course the GPS was used to get to that location. Agree with justn in that as a parent if you have concerns, you should track your kid by his/her phone. My SIL does this with my nephews.

I did the MotoSafety for my kid when he started driving at 16 years old. It just plugs into the dataport under the dash or you can get one hardwired into the vehicle. It tracked his location in real time using the cell network, speed, hard braking, hard acceleration, if he was speeding, it uses Google maps for street views if he stops a house, geo-fencing feature if he travel outside a particular area, and sends you daily reports. I told him it was my car I was letting him borrow it. I also did the iCloud family sharing thing and I was able to see where he was as a double-check using the "Find my phone App". I also told him to keep the same passcode on his phone and I can double-check anytime I wanted. If he wanted privacy, he can purchase his own phone and car when he is living in his own house.

Good driving habits when they are young can carry over to to adulthood. He is starting his 2nd year in college and drive way better than me at the same age (MotoSafety and iPhone thing only in H.S.).

I've even taken the device out his car and put it in the MDX as a cheap "LoJack" system when we traveled +20,000 miles per year to one coast or another.

I'm sure there's a way, but the software is proprietary with Acura and the software company who wrote the code.
With any Garmin GPS, you can find where it's been easily, but you have to hook it up to a computer and dive into the software and look for the .gpx files.
But then, if your kid wants to hide his tracks, he wouldn't turn it on....
