Coverage of Acura Care while the car is still under factory warranty

I am debating if I should get the Acura Care at the beginning or toward the end of the factory warranty for a 2013 RDX. It seems like the factory warranty covers everything Acura Care can cover, so what's the point of people buying Acura Care way before the factory warranty is over? Is there something Acura Care can cover but that's not included in the 4yrs/50k factory warranty (Don't really care Acura Care's rental reimbursement or concierge emergency service, and other non-car related service if that is the only perk).
Some claim if you buy it earlier, the price is cheaper. If I look CurryAcuraCare.com, a 8yrs/120k/$0 Deductible/Plan D82 is $2115 (let say you buy it now), and 5 years/120k/Plan G52 is $2200 (let say you buy it at 49,999 miles 4 years later). The different is less than $100. What am i missing here, why would some people buy Acura Care the first year of ownership, it's not like there is a huge saving? Is there an advantage i don't know? thx!

Yes, but it's not for you. The bank gets to charge interest on the extra $2k for the life of the loan.

You might consider an aftermarket warranty through your dealer. Some aftermarket warranty companies will refund half of the cost of the warranty at the end of its term if you haven't used it. In my experience, Acuras are hardly ever in the shop if they are properly maintained.

extra warranty

Things to consider.
1. Acura's are very reliable and Honda/Acura has been known to even cover major problems outside of warranty period for goodwill purposes. But no guarantee on that.

2. What if you want something different after 4 years for any number of reasons. Even if it is transferable you will get only a slight amount of what you paid for the extra warranty. Remember the powertrain warranty is longer and the catalytic converter and associated EPA required parts are guaranteed for longer as well based somewhat on what state you're in.

3. The reasons dealers push these is that they make a profit on them. Simple as that. That means that in the vast majority of cases the customers loses money on them.

4. If you put the money in a nice dividend stock, when you're warranty is over you will have the money to pay for 99% of any problems you may have.

5. I just traded in an Infiniti that I had for 10 years and put less than $500 in actual repairs other than maint intems like brakes, fluids, tires etc. Infiniti and Acura have similar reputations for quality and reliability.
