A/C problem

2014 RDX with 240K miles. Never had an issue with A/C till yesterday in 100 degree weather. All of a sudden, i heard constant loud noise. It was the A/C. Squealing noise. Goes away when I turn A/C off. I don't recall any A/C related work done on this car, ever. No refrigerant added, etc. Nothing. Any ideas where to look? Thanks.

Compressor bearings. Based on other Honda forums and the advise of actual mechanics, only replace with a real Denso.

So, today I tried adding refrigerant. Squealing noise is a lot less even A/C at full speed. I don't know where the compressor is. Looked at the engine with car started. Looked again after turning A/C on full speed. The only difference I could identify is that one of the two white colored fans behind the radiator was running. When I turned the A/C off the fan turned off.

Used A/C Pro to add refrigerant. Problem is the gauge showed pressure in Red the whole time. As I understand it, that means compressor needs to be looked at. I will have to take it into the shop (not Stealer). I have a trip coming to Las Vegas. Do not want to go there without A/C.

I typically buy parts myself and get the shop to fix. Saves me money.

Hopefully I don't need to replace the entire compressor!

Thanks for the feedback about compressor bearings.
