Acura remote start - uh oh...

Howdy folks - first time post.

Just picked up a 2015 tech/AWD last weekend. Living where it's cold, I bit the bullet and has the dealer add the acura remote starter prior to picking it up.

Please tell me that there is some way that I don't need to carry 2 remotes for this thing. Unless I learn otherwise, this thing is going back for a de-install as it was certainly not represented this way to me when I asked my salesperson about it.

Based on posts from others with the dealer-installed remote start, you're going to need the remote start fob in addition to your smart key.

I looked into having the Honda remote start put on my 2008 CR-V, but the service manager at the dealer talked me out of it. He said that they had removed almost every one they had installed due to customer dissatisfaction. The Acura remote start may not be the same exact model as the Honda one, but from looking at it up close I'd say it's really similar. I opted for an aftermarket remote on the CR-V and on my 2014 RDX, and I'm very happy with both. The one on the RDX has the add-on module that lets me communicate with the car using an app on my cell phone, which is really nice since I don't have to carry the remote fob and I can start the car from anywhere I have cell phone coverage.

Hope you're able to work something out with the Acura remote.

Same here I got the remote starter, and I'll tell you that there is no way of starting it with just the engine starter. I kinda regret getting it too but my dealer sold it to me for 700$
The cons are that the range is pretty shitty and there are not a lot of options , I think the viper remote start is better .
