I am planning to buy a new 2018 RDX AWD Tech in May-June.
What will be a good purchase price? Should we expect around $8,500 off the sticker like last fall for 2017 TLX V6 AWD Tech? Or RDX is a more desirable car and Acura will not introduce such a steep discount? Any informed guesses about May and June incentives?))

I leased one at the end of January to get out of my ILX that everyone in my family hated. I got $6,000 off MSRP. Lease incentives haven't been great over the past few months considering a new gen is out very soon. Unless Acura supplies dealers with dealer rebates I doubt you will see TLX like discounts on cash/fiance purchasing since that car simply didn't/doesn't sell well, plus the initial release had so some major bugs with the ZF9 transmission w/ AWD. Sedans are a dying segment, look at Ford and them axing everything besides the Mustang. If Acura was smart they would stop producing the ILX and TLX and simply focus on making the RLX a segment leader and keep the NSX as a Halo car. My Acura dealer said they have sold maybe two RLX. I digress, but to get to the point, the RDX was one of the few cars that sold well for Acura, yes Acura let it get outdated but even now I still think the RDX is a great car just but just not up to par luxury wise with its competitors anymore.Originally Posted by kether

I agree, jrasero that sedans are dying segment in general. But look at luxury cars like Maserati, Jags, BMW. They are still popular sedans. Ordinary people like to drive SUVs because they are not just moving themselves from and to work. I own an older MDX as well and it carried many things inside or on the top through ten years in service...So it depends how much you do yourself in terms of "utility".
So far I was able to get an offer with $7,000 off the sticker. It is not yet enough for retiring body style and engine in my opinion.
I also agree that Acura is not making totally luxury vehicles, more like "semiluxury".

The thing is, even with it being end of the generation, I don't expect fire sales as the car continues to do pretty well. Small SUV's are popular and there will be folks looking to buy the RDX while it still has a V6.Originally Posted by kether

Sure, small SUVs are extremely popular among high-esteemed "young professional ladies" who prefer to sit higher than the rest of the crowd. Not among men though.Originally Posted by chickdr

What is an advantage of getting old Honda Accord V6 engine (naturally aspirated) vs. new I4 turbocharged? Helping oil cartels by consuming more gas?

If you haven't driven both you wouldn't understand. The V6 is so much smoother and the engine sound is superior. Not to mention the hp is down on the new turbo 4. Gas mileage is also about the same for any V6 vs I4T I have seen. They are all around 25MPG combined. The gas mileage smokescreen has everyone snowed. You have to drive the turbos harder to get the performance out of them....Originally Posted by kether

$6879.14 saved on a 2017 RDX at the beginning of that model year and that is off the price of the vehicle, PDI and tax.
You might get more off if they add in rust proofing, paint protection and all those other high-margin profit extras which really makes the deal worse.

I have a friend looking to buy a 2018 RDX, She will like buy the Tech but if the Advanced is discounted enough she will go for that also. Any idea what the dealer id discounting on the Advance RDX currently? Can she get $10K off or is that not a reality? I know $7K is easily acheiveable but she is looking for a great deal. otherwise she may wait and get a 2019 model form some other make.

I was able to get her $9500 plus all accessories and free oil changes for 3 years on a 2018 Advance AWD. She was quite happy with that and picked the car up today. The deals for the 2018's are out there since most are looking at the new RDX.

I ended up going with a CPO 2017 Advance FWD, but when trying to negotiate a new 2018 at the beginning of June, the best I could do was $35,830. FWD Advance has MSRP of $43,695, so a $7,865 savings off MSRP..Originally Posted by Hou-RL

Looks like you did considerably better!

That's a great price. I highly doubt that any dealers in the NY, NJ area can match that. Though this may change as more 2019 start rolling in.Originally Posted by Hou-RL

The dealer still had 34 of them on the lot and he said it was close to the end of the month. They stated they wanted to get rid of them in the next two weeks but I really think it is because no one is looking at them. Only a serious discount will get someone one to buy an RDX older vehicle. She was quite happy with her discount as she had a limited budget and wasn't concerned about the new version. I had explained to her that maintenance on my 2014 was quite minimal and that was what she was most interested in for the purchase.Originally Posted by donkiboy

That is awesome! Good job!
My wife is the happy owner of a 2016 RDX Advance package Acura and I’ve been impressed with the Honda V6 engine in my 2004 Saturn Vue (don’t ask about the rest of the supporting components in the Saturn).
As the 2nd generation reaches the end of its sales life I would be interested in replacing the Saturn if the discounted price was attractive in my local CA area.
If anyone is in the FL 32244 area they might want to check out the local Acura dealer who is currently advertising a number of RDXs at $11,000 off. I have no personal knowledge or experience with this dealer or if the prices come with some type of small print catch.
If anyone comes across similar deals in California I would be interested.

Is 20% off MSRP reasonable? $9500 off seems like much more than that. THat's a good deal. Was that for a brand new car or CPO?

They range from FWD basic to AWD Advance.
I would assume they are new but you would have to contact the dealer to confirm that.

Two catches. First you must finance through the dealer. The rate was around 5-6% with at least 1500 down. Second, they wanted $2700 for cargo tray, all weather mats, leather and paint protection. The pice ended up very close to the local price.Originally Posted by danemobile

That sounded too good to be true. 11,000 off the '18 MSRP is about what used '17s go for.Originally Posted by mickmick

New unit. I cant remember the MSRP of a 2018 Advance but it was in the $43.5K range You can easily figure that out yourself. I am too busy looking at 2019 RX Advance for myself currently. I am hearing that the deals should be starting this week for the 2018 RDX's I don't know if that is true as that came from a sales manager and a couple of salesmen since I started looking for myself..Originally Posted by importtuner

Interesting. The listings on the website certainly didn't show the $2,700 in extras. It showed a sale price $11k below MSRP... Can you say false advertising? They certainly can. I noticed they have completely revamped it now with a maximum discount of $4k or so on the 18's. Somebody screwed up.Originally Posted by mickmick

It was end of month/end of quarter. The goal was to get bodies in the door and come up with something.
