Notice at the IHS website, it classifies the 2016 RDX as midsize luxury vehicle. Top safety across the board. What other midsize SUV has all these high ratings?

How about that Mercedes M you were raggin' on? And that was a 2015 model. Compare that to the 2015 RDX?

I'm happy that you've advanced enough in school to learn to read. Unfortunately you haven't advanced to the concept of rational thought yet.

This is actually pretty interesting. I see that the Acura RDX and MDX received a 5 and 6 (superior) for front crash prevention while the Lexus NX and RX received a 4 and 3 (advance). I wonder why different models for the same manufacturer received different ratings? I'd think they would use the same software. Any thoughts?

Probably one was 2016 and the other 2015 model.

I always feel very safe in the RDX. It's a beast!!

I believe the point system is based on a variety of different things including how much the vehicle is slowed down at different speeds. And you get the most points if you can come to a complete stop and avoid a collision.

You can find their scoring/evaluation method here: Front crash prevention tests

One would think that the RDX being the lighter of the two, it would test better than the MDX if they're using the same crash prevention software. Maybe the MDX has better braking features. I guess googling might help but ain't nobody got time for that.

Oh I see your point. Yeah it would be nice if the RDX could completely stop itself like the MDX. Who knows, maybe there is some engineering reason.

The MDX also has the low speed follow capability with its adaptive cruise control. Wish the RDX had that too.
