2013 AWD Tech vs. 2014 AWD

Price being relatively equal, would you prefer a new '14 AWD or a '13 AWD Tech w. ~20-25k miles.

I know it comes down to one's prefence for either a brand new car or tech options, but curious what the board thinks. Would the Tech be more attractive at resale?

I'd rather have the new '14 AWD.

It's a good question. Depends how much you value the tech add-ons and how long you'll keep it. I'd personally go with the new '14. The depreciation on options & trims usually is a little worse than the vehicle itself so your ROI is better on a base if you don't put any value in to your use of the features you're getting on tech.

Thanks.

I'm leaning toward the '14 right now. I really like the idea of the Tech but I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of all its features. I really liked the ELS sound system (alot!), but not sure if that's worth it alone. Nav, headlights, and power gate are not as important to me.

I was trying to figure out the resale value part of it and thought the Tech would bring value -- but.... If I'm selling in say, 20k miles, a 20k mile car is alot more attractive than a 42-45k mile car.

How much??? You seem concerned about resale value but if you get a super deal on the '13 that will take care of itself. A lot of the decision hinges on that aspect.
