I'm nearing 110k miles on my '13 RDX and will need front struts replaced soon. Local dealer quoted $1100 for parts + labor + alignment. I will be visiting a local shop that specializes in suspension work soon for a second estimate as well, but I don't expect it to be that much cheaper than the Stealership. Based on my limited research so far, there are no aftermarket front strut options available, nor are there any front strut assembly packages available for individual purchase. The parts alone are almost $600.

I quoted one dealer for $385 each another dealer at $275 each I bought them last week and had a local shop do the install. Yeah I could not find them online also one dealer told me there is the national backorder for this item and he just had the pair so I just jumped on it.

Local shop quoted me $898 for parts + labor + alignment + tax for the front strut replacements. Not bad at all compared to the dealer quote. It's unfortunate that there are no aftermarket FRONT struts though...

All 4 corners of my 15’ RDX were done under warranty, about 10,000 KM later I came out and found the arse end was sitting low. Put KYB’s on it and it’s rode great ever since. Cost me maybe $250 parts and labor.

Got the front struts replaced today & the difference is definitely noticeable! No more bouncing after hitting speed bumps and the popping noise near the front tires at low speeds is now gone.

Also: there seems to be a different part for the 2016-2018

This thread is labeled 2013 Acura RDX Shock Absorbers. So 2013? The original poster seems to have shopped local dealers.
However, he, you, and almost everyone else fails to put their location in their profile. Where can really matter, especially when looking
for a dealer. (or one to avoid) There are online dealers selling parts, often at really good prices. One strategy is to Google Acura and the part number.
Also, the fronts are properly referred to as struts and the rears shocks.

Thank you quickly responding. Yes, I am looking 2013 RDX parts. Checked the links you had earlier shared, the price is fine. But I was wondering if there was is a. aftermarket strut like KYB has for the shocks. KYB has really improved the ride quality

My particular RDX is a 2016 and under warranty for awhile. I think that the front struts are oem only. There may be rears available in KYB. It looks like
the 8th post, by user AXMACD, was able to find a KYB, but for the price he quoted, must have been the rears.
It looks like if you go to the KYB site and look up a 2013 RDX there are rears available, part number: 554406

Unfortunately, the front struts are OEM only which means paying full stealership prices for the parts. Someone on this thread linked the OEM struts at a reduced price (around $175 each). For me, the total cost of replacement at an independent suspension shop in the southeast was $900 (includes parts, labor, alignment, calibration).

I have a 2013 Acura RDX, just getting my 100K servicing done -- I had to have one shock/strut replaced on warranty a while ago, due to "clunking" founds (unit failure). It's happening again, and I'm tired of it.
My car is in excellent condition, I take good care of it.
My question for you wall: what's a good brand/name/model of shock/struts to replace these with that will grant a really comfortable (and quiet!) ride? I can't imagine spending 2K for all four to be replaced good lord, I'd faint, but it looks like these are pretty expensive. Unless I'm misunderstanding some of the above.

Here's a link to Acura OEM parts: https://www.acuraoemparts.com/v-2013...shock-absorber
As far as going with a different brand to change the ride, I would try Rockauto.com. It looks like you need to stick with OEM for the front but there is a KYB strut available for the rear.

Thanks for the info. I'm not mechanically inclined (but I do IT/tech, so I can fix your network LOL).
I just want a more comfortable ride -- I feel like the stock shocks/struts could be much better. I live in New England, too, so there can be a bumpier ride at times.
I wasn't aware we'd have to stick with OEM for front.

I just replaced all four corners on my 2016. KYB has availability for front struts (not quick struts, so no springs included), and rear shocks. Still gotta get the alignment done, but the ride is mucho better. The front left was leaking (OEM) and the rears, though they had been replaced once by the previous owner, had been installed incorrectly (left out the bottom bushings (WTF??). All done now - very happy with the KYBs! Part #s for front struts (cuz they're hard to find): 3340164 & 3340165

This is good news indeed. I installed the shocks in the back with KYB back a couple of years ago , and they were much better than OEM. Just checked with rockauto and they only have one strut left, I will wait until they have full stock and pull the trigger.

I'm trying to find somewhere that has the KYB Front Struts for a 2013 in stock, but I can't seem to find one. Does anyone know if the 2nd Gen RDX shares suspension components with another model? It would be great if there were some quick struts for the front but it doesn't seem that is the case. unfortunately.

If the front shocks are on back order, it means there are none available until parts are made. You can contact a place like Rockauto.com and ask if there is an estimated time when the shocks will arrive.

i just placed order through shockswave.com and it's been 2 weeks and still waiting
I called them and nobody picks up and i left e-mail and message 2 times and no response
did they go out of business?

I cancelled orders from Shockswave.com and found Tirerack has them. I waited almost 3 months for both front shocks and received last week
I installed them without any issue!
I am still waiting for 2 rears shocks from tirerack
hope this helps you guys

Bought the front struts from Parts Geek about a month ago and had them installed. Must say that these struts have me smiling, it's almost a sport sedan now..really like the way the car now handles the mountain roads of the Blue Ridge here in VA.
I installed the KYB shocks over a year ago for the back, now KYB is on all 4 corners. Ride is stiffer and harsher,,just as I would like it. Wish there were some heavier sway bars for the ride..yep.

Try Autozone or Oreilly ,,Advance Auto may have them also,,they all list the parts. Didn't have any problems finding the back shocks when I ordered them around Feb. Might have to pay a higher price for them, but still cheaper and a better product than what came from the factory,,Good Luck.

only ebay has them for around $108.00 each
I will just wait since no rush to get them anyway. I bought it for $76 each and no reason to spend extra $50
