Would you keep getting your transmissions fixed if you had over 100,000 miles on the car?

Depends on your financial situation, if you can't aford another car then I would fix it, it I can afford something else I'd get a new car.
After warranty transmission repair will cost you around $4000, even more

Even after the 100,000 mile transmission warranty has expired, I'm sure Acura will be doing a lot of goodwill replacements.

This is something you can not count on... In fact I doubt it, 100K is a long interval....

I just paid $2,800 for a rebuilt transmission on my 2001 CL Type S with 112,000 miles. Acura supposedly paid half of the parts. So, you're looking at $5,000 if you're on your own. And there's only 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on the rebuilt unit. See my thread 100,000+ Miles.

I will not own my car past 100,000.

Unless I get a replacement at 95k. Then I may keep the car until 120k.

I was one who had planned on getting 150k miles + out of my car. But at 89,000 and a couple of transmissions, I decided not to chance it with the car gods. Once over 100k, it's just a matter of time before you're gonna be out $3-5k for a tranny.

And if you wait til it goes out, then try to sell it "as is" ... well that dog ain't gonna hunt.

I say anyone even remotely thinking about selling their CL because of tranny worries should do it sooner than later. I loved the car but the deals on new cars right now are really sweet.

I loved my CL-S, but it had to go, there was no way I was going to pay $2,800 for a rebuilt tranny.. And that would have been installing it myself.... The word is out on CL's nd TL's they are a very hard sell especially with the information available to consumers today via the internet..
My CL-S had 63,000 on the clock and never gave me a day of trouble, not one slip, not one hard start, and I ran it hard from the get go; but I was not willing to chance it. I advertised it at $16K and after 8 weeks I left it go for $12,500.
I left it go and got myself a '05 Crew cab and I am now looking for a 6 speed legend.

Just the 2 cents of a conservative..

Got rid of mine with second tranny that had 30K on it. I figure it was due to die right after the warranty. That plus brakes and 105K tune up coming up in the next year. I figure about 7K in repairs if I took the car to 100K. So I dumped it at 83,000

12.5k private sale? I guess the $13k trade-in I got on my CLS with 63k was a good deal.

What I did before 100k.

Got rid of mine at 72k. Was not going to find out how much it would be to fix after the 100k barrier...
