So, add one more tranny problem to the list. 2002 CL-S 28K miles. Started acting funny three days ago when it couldn't find 3rd, last night couldn't find reverse, you know the story. Finally got the malfunction indicator lamp to light.

Question, in checking the ATF, I found it frightingly low, is this possibly the problem or just a sign of the fact that my trans is eating through it and I need to go take a number and get my trans replaced?

One of the symptoms is leaking fluid (if I remember my 'extended warranty' letter correctly) .. get in line

 

yuppers buddy...those were nearly identical symptons.

unfortunately I did not check my ATF fluid...it was towed right away and I didn't think about it.

I was just so
