VIN Number for Tranny Problems

All this talk about the Tranny makes me a little worried about CL Type S 03. I hop it wasn't a mistake to buy this car. Had for about 1 mouth now. Could have bought an Accord but I didn't like the body style. Is there a location on this forum where I can check my VIN number to determine if my car is at risk?

I just bought the car about a month ago and it was certified. Wouldn't they have done it then?

If the car was certified then they should have been done. If I were you, I would call the dealer, Better yet go down there without calling, and ask them for the paper work of them doing the recalls. But they should have caught that before they sold you the car. No paperwork means that somebody at that dealership is not doing his/her job right. If you have the extention on the car for the tranny, and you get the oil kit, you have nothing to worry about. I just want everybody up here to be happy with their car.

Should have but it's not on their check list for the Certification. And some people are having issues after the Oil Jet is installed - search for Shift Points if I remember correctly.

Sorry to say this.. but I've had my 03 CLS automatic for exactly one year as of tomorrow.. and I DO regret buying it over six speed... Didn't find out about the tranny problem after I purchased my car... oh well too late to do anything, b/c i'm against buying a used six speed... Best to stop by ur nearest dealer and have them check it for you. If it's automatic, ur transmission should be covered under powertrain warranty so no need to worry if ur car qualifies for it or not.

I'm not saying automatic is a terrible car, b/c I absolutely love it. I just fear for that day when my tranny is gonna die on me.

Check the Acura Owner's Link page here: If your car's VIN is listed in the Recall information, then a notice of extended warranty will be listed and the status of the Oil Kit installation.

Mr,Dan you said to search for shift points after the oil jet kit is installed? What do you mean by that? I'm asking because I just got the oil jet kit installed last week. Is there something that I need to look out for?

I meant to search for "Shift Points." I actuallly started a thread last week about this. You can click here. Let me know if you have the same issues. I'm trying to find time to get back in to my dealer and see what they say about it.
